Arsenal 2-0 Crystal Palace: Premier League New Year Day Game.

Arsenal start the new year with a good note in the Premier League after they defeated Sam Allardyce's Crystal Palace at the Emirate stadium to climb to third position on the log - one point ahead of fourth place Tottenham Hotspur.

Olivier Giroud score a brilliant scorpion kick goal in the 17th minute to give Arsenal the lead good enough to go all through the first half, and in the second half , Nigerian star Alex Iwobi double the lead for Arsenal in the 57th minute before retired Cezch republic goalkeeper make several fine saves to deny Palace from pulling a goal back in the game.

Petr Cech of Arsenal's performance against Crystal Palace have earned him a Premier League record as he set THE FIRST PREMIER LEAGUE GOALKEEPER TO KEEP A CLEAN-SHEET IN 2017.
He keep up with a good performance most especially in the second-half of the game by denying Palace with some fine ad brilliant safe to earn himself the clean-sheet.

Nigerian international Alex Iwobi also set a noticeable personal record and Premier League record after being THE FIRST PLAYER TO SCORE A PREMIER LEAGUE GOAL IN 2017 WITH HEAD AND ALSO HIS FIRST PREMIER LEAGUE GOAL SCORED WITH A HEADER. 
Iwobi played a 77 minute in the game before being sub for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Arsene Wenger commended the young international speaking after the match as he said: 
"I believe he is always available, quick in his movement, wants the ball, can hold people off. On top of that, now he starts to score goals. People forget he is 20 years old. I think he had a very good game.
" His quality of pass, of availability, is exceptional for a young boy. He lacked a bit of quality of [receptiveness] in dangerous areas and I hope that these goals he scores now will give him the taste as well to go where he can finish it off."

Iwobi's goal make his second Premier League goal for Arsenal.
