The EA Sport have selected and released five names of players to contest as Premier League player  for the month of September.

The public can vote for a new winner of the EA SPORTS player of the month award as all five September nominees have never before claimed the award.

Midfielders Kevin De Bruyne, of Manchester City, Adam Lallana, of Liverpool and Son Heung-min, of Tottenham Hotspur, Forwards Romelu Lukaku, of Everton and Arsenal's Theo Walcott on the shortlist for outstanding performances for their clubs last month.

The EA SPORTS player of the month award is voted for by a combination of the public via, a panel of Premier League legends and current club captains.

The public vote will count for 10% of the total.

The Vote will close at 11.59 GMT on Monday 10 oct.

A quick look at the nominees performance stat for their clubs in the month of September.

Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)
A key player to Manchester City’s 100% record during September, scoring two goals and providing two assists for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Adam Lallana (Liverpool)
Matching De Bruyne’s creative output with two goals and two assists as well as a passing accuracy of 88%, Lallana's strike against Leicester City has also been nominated for the Carling Goal of the Month award.

Romelu Lukaku (Everton)
Romelu Lukaku has been involved in more goals in September than anyone else, scoring a hat-trick at Sunderland on 12 September, a wonderful free-kick against Crystal Palace and a goal and an assist against Middlesbrough .

Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur)
Son burst into life with his first match for Spurs in 2016/17, scoring twice in a 4-0 win at Stoke City, with his second nominated for the Carling Goal of the Month award, and producing another brace at Middlesbrough.

Theo Walcott (Arsenal)
The Arsenal forward has hit the ground running this season with his two goals helping his team to three wins in September, the first time in a year Walcott has struck more than once in the league in a calendar month.

In deciding the winners, a panel of experts  including Premier League legends such as Sir Alex Ferguson, Alan Shearer and Jamie Carragher cast their votes in all three categories: Barclays Manager of the Month; EA SPORTS Player of the Month; and the Carling Goal of the Month.

For the player award, for the first time, the Premier League has also called on the nominees’ peers to contribute, with the club captains casting votes for a winner.

And from this season, the public have had the chance to play a role, too, helping to decide the winners in each category.

The winners will be announced on Friday 14 october.
