RIO 2016 PARALYMPICS: BOSE OMOLAYO Set A New World Record And Wins Nigeria's SIXTH Gold Medal

It was another victory for Team Nigeria as Bose Omolayo grabbed gold in the powerlifting event at the Rio 2016 Paralympic games.

It is Team Nigeria's sixth gold medal of the on-going Rio Paralympics.

In the women's 79kg, Omolayo lifted 138kg to set a new paralympic world record and finish top of her weight category.
The silver medal went to China's Lili Xu who lifted 135kg, while another Chinese contestant Taipei's Tzu-Hui Liu claimed the bronze medal after lifting the 131kg.

Earlier in the day, another Nigerian Ndidi Nwosu also won gold in the women's powerlifting in another category.
She beat off France's Souhad Ghazouani and Egypt's Amany Ali.

Team Nigeria is in ninth position in the overall medal table having SIX gold, TWO silver and ONE bronze.
