OZIL: I'll Definitely Have Wilshere's NO-10 Shirt At Arsenal

Mesut Ozil has insisted he will "definitely" have the No.10 shirt at Arsenal following Jack Wilshere's loan move to Bournemouth.

The German playmaker has won the No.11 at Arsenal since arriving from Real Madrid in 2013, with Wilshere handed No.10 when Robin Van Persie left for Manchester United.

Mesut Ozil recently took up the No.10 shirt for Germany following Lukas Podolski's international retirement  and now, with Wilshere spending the rest of the 2016-17 at Bournemouth, Ozil is confident of wearing same number at the Emirate Stadium.

In a recent interview, Ozil told the Germany Express media: "For me the number means a lot, it is my favorite number. Football legends such as Zinedine Zidane, Diego Maradona and Pele have this number. I'm really happy about it.
"I wanted to have the number a few years ago, but so did Lukas Podolski and he had played more matches than me. Now I have access!
"Of course, i have  previously given those in charge a signal. The number is right for me and my position as playmaker."
"And Yes, now it has become free at Arsenal and I definitely want it."

                                        OZIL'S SHIRT NUMBER:

**Mesut Ozil wore No.17 at Schalke, where he emerged from youth ranks. Brazilian journeyman Lincoln and then Ivan Rakitic occupied the number 10 shirt there.

**Mesut Ozil wore No.11 at Werder Bremen, where Diego and Marko Marin were ahead of him in line for the coveted number 10.

**Mesut Ozil wore the No.23 shirt at Real Madrid while he awaited for Lassana Diara to move on. When he did, Ozil now held the number 10 for two seasons at Real Madrid.

**On international level, Ozil has wore the No.8 shirt......until Lukas Podolski retired last month and now Ozil claim on the number 10 shirt for the German National Team.

****Mesut Ozil is currently wearing the No.11 at Arsenal, and now eagerly to take over the number 10 shirt since it is available free in the club.
