ARSENAL On The Verge To SMASH The Current Premier League Record

Many Arsenal fans are convinced they don't get the rub of the green when it comes to referees.
Mike Dean's decisions, Diego Costa's continuing existence..... most Gooners could come up with a long list of examples of the refereeing gods taunting their club.

Hence why many Arsenal fans will be a little stunned by the CURRENT RUN OF PENALTIES CALLS going their way.

Incredibly, the Gunners have been awarded FIVE penalties in their first six games of the 2016/17 Premier League season including the English Football League..
Theo Walcott missed one against Liverpool, Santi Cazorla scored from the spot against Watford and Southampton, Alexis Sanchez missed one against Hull City, and new strike Luca Perez scored one against Nottingham Forest.

That's pretty remarkable for two reasons.

Firstly, it,s only the second time a team has been given five spot-kicks in their first five games of a Premier League season only, after Aston villa in 1998/99.

Secondly, and far more importantly, it means Arsene Wenger's side are currently winning 0.8 penalties per match. If they keep up that rate, they would end this season with a grand total of THIRTY penalties in the current Premier League season.

YES,! if they continue picking up penalties at their current rate, Arsenal will not just break the record for spot-kicks in a season - they will break it around Christmas time.

SO, WILL THE TREND OF ARSENAL'S PENALTY CONTINUE THIS WEEKEND AGAINST CHELSEA IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE GAME?
