Mourinho checks out his United stars as Smalling scores but Rooney struggles.

Manchester United players have scored all of England's goals since Jose Mourinho was appointed boss


Wonder what Jose Mourinho made of it all? The new Manchester United boss was at Wembley to watch his countrymen take on England. 
His heart, of course, would have been with the Portuguese — but his head would have been keeping an eye on United’s Wayne Rooney and Chris Smalling.

But Mourinho was all smiles after United defender Chris Smailling scored the winner for England

Fans were quick to hail the Mourinho effect after Smalling's late winner meant that Manchester United players have scored all three of England's goals since the Portuguese was appointed manager at Old Trafford.
Marcus Rashford and Wayne Rooney were on target in the 2-1 win over Australia.
